Do you accept independent entries? 

No, Beyond the Stars does not accept independent entries.

 

How can I find out when my child is scheduled to perform?

The exact competition schedule is sent to studio directors one week prior to the start date of the competition. We cannot release schedule information to parents so please contact your studio director for this information.

 

I see an issue with my child’s entry, what do I do?

Please address this with your studio director. Beyond the Stars will only accept changes from the studio director.

 

What is the exact location of the competition?

If you click on our 2014 Tour tab you will see a list of our competitions, click the one you are attending and the address will be listed.

 

When do I need to arrive at the competition with my dancer?

You should contact your studio director to find out when he/she wants you to arrive at the competition. Because we typically run early we ask that dancers are ready to perform at least 1 hour prior to their scheduled performance time. This would also apply to anyone hoping to see a particular dance.

 

Is it free to watch the competition?

Yes, all Beyond The Stars Competitions are open to the public.

 

How do I enter my child for photogenic?

We accept photogenic entries at our merchandise table up until Noon on Saturday. Our photogenic awards are given during the first All Star group awards.

 

Can I videotape or take photos of my child’s dance?

No, it is our policy at Beyond The Stars that there is NO photography or videography during any of the performances- this includes cell phones, lap tops, cameras or any other recording device. We have made this policy for your child’s protection. There is no way for us to tell that you are only taking photos and videos of your child or studio. Please keep in mind that our events are open to the public and it is impossible to monitor the entire audience. You may take photos and videos during our award ceremonies. Breaking this rule is grounds for disqualification.

 

Where can I get my child’s scores?

All scoring information goes to the studio director.

 

What’s the scoring range for adjudications?

High Silver 240-254.9
Gold 255-266.9
High Gold 267-278.9
Platinum 279-290.9
Diamond 291-300

 

Do you give overalls in every level?

Yes, Beyond the Stars awards overall high scores in all 3 of our levels. The top three are recognized in our Shooting Star Level, the top five are recognized in our Rising Star Level and the top ten are recognized in our All Star Level. (Exceptions may be made depending on the number of entries in each level)

 

Where can I find the results of the competition?

If you click on our 2014 Tour tab you will see a list of our competitions, click the one you attended and the results will be listed on the bottom of that page.

 

My child won a cash award, how do I get the money?

As stated in our rules, all cash prizes are awarded to the studio.

 

How do I order a plaque or trophy?

You can place the order at the competition, please see our merchandise table. If it is after the competition and you’d still like to order, please email us:

 

Can I still order a photo or video from the competition?

Yes, our action photos can be found online at www.btsproductions.com please allow 10-14 days for the photos to be uploaded online. On that site you will also find a copy of our video forms. Please fill out the form and mail it in with payment.

 

My child was chosen to be an All Star Performer; can you please explain what’s involved?

Dancers are chosen to be All Star Performers at each one of our Regional Competitions. The All Star Performers make up the cast of the opening number to our Ultimate Challenge at our National Finals. Dancers who chose to be in our opening number are required to be at every rehearsal, rehearsals take place each day of Nationals (schedule worked around the competition schedule). The performance takes place on the last day of Nationals. Dancers will receive a shirt to wear but must bring black jazz shorts. Rehearsal schedule will be sent to Studio Directors with the competition schedule.
